Wages of Thin by Trevor Griffiths - Old Red Lion 27 April

Congo Red presents The Wages of Thin, by Trevor Griffiths, at the Old Red Lion, a fringe venue in Angel, north London, from 27 April to 15 May 2010.

Directed by Prasanna Puwanarajah and designed by James Cotterill.

Cast includes Ryan Gage, Alan Francis, Richard Sandells.

Written in 1969, in the wake of the 1967 Sexual Offences Act. The play is concerned with the sanctity of identity and the privacy of sexuality, issues that were particularly potent at the end of the 1960s.

It tells the story of Alfred Rimbaud Thin who goes to relieve himself in a public convenience only to find himself trapped and charged with murder. Over the course of a brutal interrogation, two bizarre policemen accuse him of perversion, incest, and earning a wage that just doesn't add up...
