Farewell To The Theatre premiere at Bridewell Theatre

The Tower Theatre Company the London amateur premiere of Farewell To The Theatre, by Richard Nelson, directed by John McSpadyen, at the Bridewell Theatre, near Fleet Street in the city of London, from 28 July to 1 August 2015.

Synopsis: "We find Granville Barker in Massachusetts in 1916. Embittered and world-weary, disillusioned with the theatre and amongst a group of British expatriates including a Dickensian recitalist and a love-struck female actor, they are all endeavouring to find their way in an academic, theatre-obsessed community whilst war rages in Europe."

Henry Granville Barker is widely regarded as the man who laid the foundations of modern British theatre and one of its transforming influences.
