Scandalous Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde at Tabard 12 Oct

Holden Kemble Theatre Company presents The Scandalous Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, adapted for the stage from Robert Louis Stevenson's novella by Paul Kemble, at The Tabard, a fringe venue in Chiswick, west London, from 12 Oct to 6 Nov 2010.

Young physician Dr Henry Jekyll is desperate to make a name for himself, researching hazardous and revolutionary medicine. One dark night he appears at the office of his solicitor, Gabriel Utterson, demanding that his will be redrawn to exclude his devoted wife and to bequeath all his possessions and considerable inheritance to the notorious Edward Hyde, a violent and vicious villain.

Driven by dread-filled rumours and religious righteousness, the lawyer's investigation soon becomes an obsession, as he finds his own moral surety under attack when faced with chilling scientific heresy, hot-blooded adultery and brutal murder.
