Summer by Julia Stubbs Hughes at Jack Studio Theatre

20 South Street presents Summer, by Julia Stubbs Hughes, based on the novel by Edith Wharton, directed by Timothy Stubbs Hughes, at the Jack Studio Theatre, in Brockley, south London, from 8 to 26 May 2012.

Tells the story of a woman's awakening, caught between the desires of two men who want her for themselves.

Charity is eighteen-years-old and a child of the Mountain: wild and free. She yearns to escape from the boredom of her existence in the village of North Dormer. Into her life comes Lucius, a New Yorker, with his knowledge and experience of the world. Her guardian and father-figure, Lawyer Royall, fears he could be the destruction of this engaging young woman.
