What the critics had to say.....
PAUL TAYLOR for THE INDEPENDENT says, "This rather restrained and painstaking play - premiered in Howard Davies's well-acted, joltingly modern-dress production - offers an intriguingly secular account of the resurrection" MICHAEL BILLINGTON for THE GUARDIAN says, "Brenton's fascinating play persuades me that it is invariably the secular dramatists who write best about spiritual matters...an exciting play that explores big issues from a point of rationalist doubt." CHARLES SPENCER for THE DAILY TELEGRAPH says, "Much of this play moved me...Adam Godley is superb as the ascetic Paul." BENEDICT NIGHTINGALE for THE TIMES says, "Tense production." ALEKS SIERZ for THE STAGE says, "a compelling study of faith and of the human need for stories that explain the world and inspire action."
