About Pinter 5: The Room / Victoria Station / Family Voices

Patrick Marber directs a triple bill of one-act Harold Pinter plays, including his very first work, runs as part of Jamie Lloyd's Pinter at the Pinter season. Tickets are now on sale to see The Room, Victoria Station and Family Voices at the Harold Pinter Theatre.

First performed at the University of Bristol in 1957, The Room is the first play written by Harold Pinter. It sees Rose flit about in the flat she lives in with her truck driver husband Bert, as a number of prospective guests arrive to enquire about a vacant room.

Victoria Station is a short play based around the radio communications between a minicab controller, and a driver who has stopped in Crystal Palace by a dark park. The driver refuses to move onto the next job because of the passenger currently in the back of his car.

Family Voices is framed around the letters of a mother and her son following the death of her husband. The son has moved to the city, yet hi mother never seems to receive his letters. It tells a story of family dysfunction which can be found in many of Pinter's best-known works.

The Room, Victoria Station and Family Voices will run at the Harold Pinter Theatre between 13th December 2018 and 26th January 2019, with an official opening night on 3rd January 2019. Tickets are on sale now.

The cast for the productions includes Jane Horrocks, Emma Naomi and Nicholas Woodesen.
