Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is a play set nineteen years after Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger helped to save the wizarding world. Now that they’re adults with families of their own, they find themselves yet again pulled into an adventure as a new generation of students arrive at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
When the past and present come face to face, the characters are swept up into a dangerous journey through time. Their old choices bring with them consequences as unexpected relationships begin to develop and the future of the wizarding world is once again in question.
After ten years in London as a two-part theatrical event, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child in London is being reimagined as a single performance. The new version gives audiences the chance to experience the entire story in just one visit while retaining its incredible stagecraft and magical effects that have defined the production.
This play is an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany. Jack Thorne wrote the play, and John Tiffany directed it. The creative team includes set designer Christine Jones, costume designer Katrina Lindsay, composer Imogen Heap, lighting designer Neil Austin, sound designer Gareth Fry, and illusions and magic designer Jamie Harrison.
Since its 2016 world premiere, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has remained one of the West End’s most celebrated plays for an entire decade. Now, as it enters its 11th year, the production offers longtime fans and new audiences the chance to return to the wizarding world in a newly reimagined adventure.
