The To Kill A Mockingbird play is a Broadway transfer, following a hugely successful run. The West End transfer was announced on 31st October 2019, marking the one year anniversary since the production opened on Broadway at the Shubert Theatre.

To Kill A Mockingbird previews begin at the Gielgud Theatre on 10 March 2022. The opening night of To Kill A Mockingbird is currently scheduled for 31 March 2022.

Harper Lee's story of racial injustice has sold 45 million copies worldwide, with 2020 marking the 60th anniversary of its publication.

To Kill A Mockingbird is adapted by Aaron Sorkin, but based on Harper Lee's Pulitzer-winning novel. The play tells the story of young Scout and her father Atticus Finch, a lawyer tasked with defending a local, Tom Robinson, who is accused of rape. The novel explores justice and racial tension in a small Southern town, and is one of the best-selling novels of all-time.

Rafe Spall will play Atticus Finch; Spall was previously in Death of England at the National Theatre. Casting for To Kill A Mockingbird in London is to be announced.

Bartlett Sher directs To Kill A Mockingbird. Sher's recent London work includes The King and I and Oslo, when he directed the production when it premiered at the Shubert Theatre in New York. It broke a box office record when it grossed $1.5 million in a single week.

Jeff Daniels received critical acclaim for his work in the role of Atticus. In a New York Theatre Guide review, "The production makes for gripping, seriously absorbing theatre with a top-flight Broadway cast, led by the grave but sympathetic Jeff Daniels."

The To Kill A Mockingbird running time on Broadway is 2 hours and 35 minutes, including one interval. To Kill A Mockingbird is recommended for audience members aged 12 and over.
