About Grease the Musical

Grease is the West End musical you need, oh yes indeed! Grease tickets are available on London Theatre now.

The Grease musical follows the Burger Palace Boys and the Pink Ladies as they navigate the trials and tribulations of their senior year at Rydell High. Transfer student Sandy Dumbrowski speaks of her whirlwind summer romance with heartthrob Danny Zuko. Little does Sandy know that Danny’s also at Rydell High. Sparks fly as they reunite, but can they find true love by the lockers?

Join the Pink Ladies at their fun-filled sleepovers, see the kids of Rydell High dance it out at the high school hop, and be a part of this love letter to high school.

Although this production boasts all the hits like “Beauty School Dropout,” “Summer Nights,” and “Greased Lightnin’”, this Grease production offers a grittier, tougher storyline, thanks to Nikolai Foster and Arlene Phillips directing and choreographing respectively. Peter Andre starred in Grease in 2022; this year it’s the turn of Louise Redknapp as Teen Angel.

Who wrote the Grease musical?

Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey wrote Grease, basing the teen musical on their high school experiences. Jacobs' alma mater, William Howard Taft School in Chicago, inspires the musical setting.

Our Review

'Grease' review — this fitfully gritty take on the beloved musical still gives you chills

3 of 5
18 May 2022, 10:27
This seems to be the summer of reinvented classic musicals, from the moody Oklahoma! at the Young Vic to a revamped Legally Blonde at Regent’s Park Open Air. In that vein, Nikolai Foster dishes up his “gritty” Grease, which began Leicester Curve, toured the UK and is now playing in the West End....
Production note
We use flashing lights effects similar to that of a strobe. Sound levels can be high throughout the show. Haze/smoke machines may also be in use. Under 5s cannot be admitted. Smoking depicted on stage and use of occasional strong language.
