About We Will Rock You

We Will Rock You, the beloved Queen jukebox musical, returns to the West End for a special limited engagement more than 20 years after the show premiered in the West End. We Will Rock You tickets are available on London Theatre now.

Set in a futuristic society where rock music doesn’t exist, We Will Rock You uses Queen's legendary songs to tell a story about challenging the status quo and celebrating individuality in a world where conformity reigns supreme. The original run played at the Dominion Theatre for an impressive 12 years, cementing its status as one of the longest-running shows in West End history.

Comedian and writer Ben Elton, who is also known for collaborating with Andrew Lloyd Webber on musicals like The Beautiful Game and The Phantom of the Opera sequel Love Never Dies, penned the book while working alongside Queen members Brian May and Roger Taylor.

Since the show premiered in 2002, We Will Rock You has dazzled millions across the world. The musicalIt includes some of the most popular Queen songs such as “We Are The Champions,” “Don’t Stop Me Now,” “Killer Queen,” and, of course, “We Will Rock You.”

What is the We Will Rock You musical about?

The We Will Rock You musical is set 300 years from now in a futuristic dystopia where musical instruments are outlawed, and the evil corporation, Globalsoft, controls the media. The story follows an outcast named Galileo, who starts hearing lyrics in his head of songs lost to history that he can’t help but sing out loud.

After being captured and arrested for refusing to ignore the lyrics, he escapes with fellow rebel Scaramouche and joins a band of bohemians who are building their own illegal instruments. Galileo learns of a prophecy that someone will bring music back to the world and discovers his destiny.

In order to topple Globalsoft and its leader, Killer Queen, Galileo must team up with Scaramouche and the bohemians, even if it means sacrificing everything to return the power of rock to the people and save the world from the Killer Queen’s conformist tyranny.
