Experience small-town rural America like never before in Clarkston, a fabulous play by Samuel D. Hunter (The Whale). Book Clarkston tickets on London Theatre.
Clarkston is a play set on the edge of rural Washington State in a town called Clarkston. Clarkston focuses on Jake, a young man searching for meaning in his travels, and Chris, a night-shift worker at Costco, a wholesale department store, who is tied down to his town. Their unlikely friendship blossoms into something deeper, and together they grapple with themes of family, loss, and new beginnings. This play deeply resonates as a modern frontier story, one that’s not so dissimilar to the journeys of explorers Lewis and Clarke, speaking to contemporary questions about what it means to belong.
Emmy-nominated actor Joe Locke (Heartstopper, Agatha All Along) is making his highly anticipated West End debut in Clarkston in the role of Jake, which is making its UK premiere this autumn at the Trafalgar Theatre.
Clarkston in London was written by Samuel D. Hunter, who wrote the Oscar-winning film The Whale. This show is also being staged by talented director, Jack Serio (Uncle Vanya). Locke is joined by rising star Ruaridh Mollica (Sebastian, The Franchise) as Chris, as well as Sophie Melville (Iphigenia in Splott) playing Trisha, Jake’s troubled mother.
Alongside this formidable cast is the creative team that made this production possible, including design by Milla Clarke, lighting by Stacey Derosier, and sound by George Dennis.
Clarkston is a deeply heartfelt story that expertly paints a portrait of what it means to accept your identity, to experience love, and to have the courage to want something more than what you’ve been allotted in life. This brilliant production is sure to be emotionally compelling, leaving audiences inspired and filled with hope.
