About Bat Out of Hell

Head to a dystopian world and find paradise by the dashboard light in London. Listen out for all the guitar licks in the Meatloaf musical as it comes to the Peacock Theatre in 2023.

There’s plenty of Meatloaf songs in Bat out of Hell. To date, the best-selling Meatloaf album has sold over 60 million copies worldwide. Listen out for the 19 Meatloaf songs such as “I’d Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That),” and “Two Out of Three Ain’t Bad.” There’s even two unreleased Meatloaf songs in the production: “What Part of My Body Hurts the Most” and “Not Allowed to Love.”

Bat Out of Hell previously shook up the Dominion Theatre. In a Bat Out of Hell review, London Theatre said: “It almost tears up the musical rulebook, and adding a set and a storyline to a rock concert instead. It's no Sondheim, it's no Lloyd Webber, but it is certainly like nothing you'll have seen before. This production capture the essence of rock music - it's a spectacular, sensory overload from start to finish.”

The Bat Out of Hell London musical is dedicated to Jim Steinman, who passed away on 19 Apr. 2021, and Meat Loaf, who passed away on 20 Jan. 2022.

What’s Bat Out of Hell about?

Bat Out of Hell: The Musical uses the Meat Loaf songs to enhance a rocking Romeo and Juliet-inspired love story. Meet Raven, an innocent teenage girl who finds herself falling in love with Strat, a social outcast. He leads The Lost, a group of people whose bodies and minds are stuck in a younger state. Strat and Raven’s father Falco clash, but who will get their own way? Would Raven do anything for love?
