Casting has been announced for the Young Vic’s upcoming musical production of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, which has been co-conceived by new artistic director Kwame Kwei-Armah. Kwei-Armah has conceived the production alongside American musician Shaina Taub, who has provided the music and lyrics to 23 original songs in the show. This version of Twelfth Night, co-directed by Kwei-Armah and Public Theater AD Oskar Eustis, premiered at the Public in 2016 running for just three performances, but is set for a full month’s run in New York this summer as part of the Shakespeare in the Park series.
