Bush Theatre releases The Protest: Black Lives Matter

Six Black, British artists created responses to the murder of George Floyd in the U.S.

Bush Theatre asked its community of Black artists to respond to the murder of Black people at the hands of the police in the United States, and six theatremakers created responses, which the company is calling "The Protest: Black Lives Matter." These responses are available to watch on Bush Theatre's Instagram and Twitter pages.

"'The Bush kneels with the Black community at home and aboard as we fight the ongoing pandemic — racism and the oppression of Black People," say Daniel Bailey, associate artistic director of the Bush Theatre and curator of "The Protest." "We asked some of our Bush family to lift their voices in a myriad of ways that mirrors the diversity within the Black community... And this is the result: 'The Protest: Black Lives Matter.'"

The six pieces that compose "The Protest" are as follows.
