Carl Rosa Opera at Gielgud 30 Jan to 1 Mar 2008

Raymond Gubbay is to present The Carl Rosa Opera Company at the Gielgud Theatre from 30 Jan to 1 March 2008. They will perform three Gilbert & Sullivan operettas.

The Mikado (30 Jan - 9 Feb 2008). Transports us to the magnificent court of Titipu and the hilarious tale of love, corruption in local government, marriage, executions and heroics!

Iolanthe (11 - 16 Feb 2008). Iolanthe is banished for marrying a mortal and having his son, but when the young man wishes to marry, his fairy queen storms Wesminster to make him a Member of Parliament so he can win the girl with chaotic consequences!

Pirates of Penzance (18 Feb - 1 Mar 2008). Orphaned pirates, flat footed policemen, a bevy of blushing maidens and the pretty daughter of Major General Stanley ... leads us through the squashbuckling world of young Frederic, the Pirate apprentice, who was born on February 29th in a leap year and therefore won't be 21 and come of age until he is 84!
