Cats: Twitter reacts to the trailer of Andrew Lloyd Webber musical movie
It's been hotly anticipated for years now, as a killer cast of Hollywood A-listers and acting greats was slowly assembled for the movie adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical Cats. But our first glimpse of the animated film didn't quite see the Jellicle Moon shining bright.
Released in the late hours of Thursday, the trailer gave us a first look at the likes of James Corden, Judi Dench, Taylor Swift, Ian McKellen, Idris Elba, Rebel Wilson, Jason Derulo and Jennifer Hudson in their feline form, as well as a first listen to Hudson performing the song "Memory" throughout".
Reaction to the trailer was mixed, to say the least.
Told my brother to watch the @catsmovie trailer. His response did not disappoint. #CatsMovie #CatsTrailer pic.twitter.com/IEOr9tnBia

That #Cats trailer has triggered flashbacks of bad acid I took in the 70s. In a Bad Mew'd. #Flashback pic.twitter.com/DOt0Gn7TS9

Me: Maybe the Cats trailer wasn't that bad, maybe we imagined it.

There has nothing in such a long time that united all of Twitter as the Cats trailer. Long may that continue.

I thought I was afraid of climate change but it turns out my greatest fear is men and women dressed up as cats thinking they are cats and singing as cats in catsuits.

There was also a strong reaction from the cat community, led by Chief Mouser to the Cabinet Office, Larry.
I'm calling an emergency meeting of cats to agree our response to THAT film trailer. This insult to felines shall not go unpunished! pic.twitter.com/hO8aTyVvNB

Some were more optimistic about the trailer and hopeful for the film.
It's purr-fect!

It is my favourite musical... I am worried that the movie will spoil it. Despite some great actors I am not sure all this technology will benefit it.... Let's see....
