Minnie Driver to perform in 'Every Brilliant Thing' in the West End
The now-extended solo play at @sohoplace features a rotating cast of actors, also including Lenny Henry, Ambika Mod, Sue Perkins, and Jonny Donahoe.
Minnie Driver will perform in the one-person play Every Brilliant Thing in the West End this summer, joining a rotating cast of guest performers that also includes the previously announced Lenny Henry, Ambika Mod, and Sue Perkins, the show's co-creator Jonny Donahoe. The show has also extended due to popular demand, now running at @sohoplace from 1 August – 8 November.
Oscar, Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Driver is best known for her roles in the films Good Will Hunting and The Phantom of the Opera and the TV series The Riches and Speechless. She will be the final performer in the run of Every Brilliant Thing, performing from from 13 October – 8 November. The run opens with Henry, followed by Donahoe, Mod, and Perkins before Driver.
The play, written by Duncan Macmillan with Donahoe and directed by Jeremy Herrin and Macmillan, follows a child who makes a list of everything brilliant in the world for their mother, who is struggling with depression.
The creative team includes design by Vicki Mortimer, with lighting design by Jack Knowles and sound design by Tom Gibbons.
“I am thrilled to have been asked to be part of Every Brilliant Thing, it’s an extraordinarily unique one person show – funny, raw and kind, and crucially supported by the involvement of the audience, which adds a really interesting angle on storytelling,” Driver said in a statement.
