Cory English to join ‘Back to the Future’ cast; tickets available through October 2023

He will take over the role from Roger Bart in the spring.

Get ready for 1.21 gigawatts of new cast power. Following a limited run as Doc Brown in Back to the Future this winter, Cory English will permanently join the cast as Doc Brown in March. Back to the Future also extends at the Adelphi Theatre through 22 October.

Roger Bart will play Doc to 20 March. He'll then reprise the role in the Broadway production.

Cory English will play Doc from 22 March. English’s previous West End credits include The Producers, Young Frankenstein, Guys and Dolls and a Sleepless in Seattle-based musical.

The Back to the Future West End cast includes Ben Joyce as Marty McFly, Amber Davies as Lorraine Baines, Oliver Nicholas as George McFly, Jordan Benjamin as Goldie Wilson, Harry Jobson as Biff Tannen, Sophie Naglik as Jennifer Parker, Gary Trainor as Strickland, Will Haswell as Dave McFly and alternate Marty McFly, and Emma Lloyd as Linda McFly.

Based on the sci-fi film trilogy, Back to the Future follows Marty McFly as he time travels in a DeLorean from 1985 to 1955. In order to return to reality, Marty must make sure his high school-aged parents fall in love again to save his existence. Back to the Future won the 2022 Olivier for Best New Musical. The musical features a book by Bob Gale, music and lyrics by Alan Silvestri and Glen Ballard, direction by John Rando. The creative team includes scenic and costume design by Tim Hatley, lighting design by Tim Luktin and sound design by Gareth Owen.
