Dick and Daisy - new costume drama

A new costume drama, Dick and Daisy by Nanette Ackerman, based on the book "Alias Richard Lee (Pictures Of a Chaplin Actor)", plays at Barons Court Theatre, a fringe venue in west London, from 19 Nov to 23 Nov 2013.

The play tells the story of a stage-struck young girl who discovers her grandmother's scrapbook, replete with theatrical pictures, in a Cornish cottage. There is mystery surrounding the grandfather, a minor actor in the Charlie Chaplin films. What had he done which caused him to skip the country, thrusting Marguerite and her two children into poverty?
