Edward II at the London Theatre New Cross

Venture Wolf Productions present Edward II, by Christopher Marlowe, directed by Paul Vitty, at the London Theatre New Cross, south east London, from 30 September to 5 October 2014.

Synopsis: "When Edward inherits the throne from his stern and all conquering father, he is determined to rule his way. To the horror of the lords and bishops he recalls his basely born male lover and demands even the proudest should stoop before his favourite. With a young son to protect, Queen Isabella finds herself ignored and humiliated by her erratic and emotional husband. Will Edward's actions push her into the arms of the power hungry and rebellious Mortimer? "

Venture Wolf Productions consist of a company of actors and creatives, led by Paul Vitty, who are starting a new London-based Rep Theatre Company. They provide a learning, training and performing platform for recent graduates, directors and untrained actors. The cast of Edward II includes both represented and unrepresented actors.
