Marti Pellow cast as The Narrator in Blood Brothers
Marti Pellow has been cast as 'The Narrator' in Blood Brothers, from 1 Nov 2011 for a limited season, at the Phoenix Theatre.
Marti Pellow first came to the attention of the British public as the lead singer of Wet Wet Wet. As both a solo artist and with Wet Wet Wet, Marti has had chart-topping albums, with over 25 chart hits and three of the UK’s biggest number one singles, including Love is All Around which continues to be one of the top five highest selling singles and most played songs of all time in the UK.
The musical is directed by Bob Tomson and Bill Kenwright. The design is by Marty Flood and the musical director is Rod Edwards.
Blood Brothers premiered in the West End in April 1983 at the Lyric Theatre and closed in October 1983. Bill Kenwright picked up the rights to the musical in 1987, and a re-vamped Blood Brothers and was revived at the Albery Theatre, in July 1988, before transferring to the Phoenix Theatre in November 1991, where it is now taking bookings to 24 Nov 2012.
The story concerns a pair of twins from Liverpool who are separated at birth. Later in life their paths cross in friendship and anger.
