‘Medea’, starring Sophie Okonedo and Ben Daniels, sets full cast

Ben Daniels, Sophie Okonedo and director Dominic Cooke will reunite to collaborate on a new adaptation of Medea. Medea runs at @sohoplace with previews at @sohoplace from 10 February, ahead of an opening night on 17 February and performances to 22 April.

Robinson Jeffers adapts Euripides’s ancient Greek tragedy, based upon myths from as early as 430BC. Medea follows the title character as she seeks revenge on the men who once abandoned and betrayed her.

Okonedo will play Medea, with Ben Daniels as Jason/Creon/Aegeus. Marion Bailey, Alicia Charles, Leda Hodgson, Penny Layden, Jo McInnes, Tom Peters, and Amy Trigg complete the cast. Find out more about Sophie Okonedo and Ben Daniels.

Dominic Cooke directs Medea. The play features set design by Vicki Mortimer, costume design by Helen Johnson, lighting design by Neil Austin, and sound design by Gareth Fry.

@sohoplace opened in the West End in 2022. The theatre opened with Marvellous and is now currently home to As You Like It.
