A live recording of Phoebe Waller-Bridge's West End production of Fleabag has been made available to stream online, raising money in support of UK charities battling the COVID-19 pandemic.

Filmed live at the Wyndham's Theatre during the sell-out West End run last August, the film of Waller-Bridge's one-woman show was broadcast as part of NT Live's cinema series last year, giving fans who were unable to attend the theatre production in person an opportunity to see the show.

Now, the film will be made available on Soho Theatre's On Demand streaming site as of Monday 6th April for £4, and available for download for 24 hours. Availability will be expanded to Australia, New Zealand, and Canada on 10th April, and will also be available on Amazon Prime Video in the UK and US from that date.

Amazon Prime is a broadcast partner of the cult hit TV series which was spawned from the original hour-long fringe theatre show, which was seen at the Soho Theatre.

Money raised from the streams will be donated to charities including The National Emergencies Trust (NET), NHS Charities Together and Acting For Others and the recently-launched Fleabag Support Fund, which distributes grants of £2,500 to freelancers affected by the current crisis. US-based charities that will benefit will be shared later this week.

In a statement, Waller-Bridge said: "I hope this filmed performance of Fleabag can help raise money while providing a little theatrical entertainment in these isolated times. Thank you to all our partners and to the creative team who have waived their royalties from this production to raise money for such vital causes in this unbelievably challenging situation.

"All money raised will support the people throughout our society who are fighting for us on the frontlines and those financially devastated by the crisis, including those in the theatre community. Thank you in advance to those who donate.

"Now go get into bed with Fleabag! It's for charity!"
