In a London hotel on the eve of their appearance at the Baha Mousa Inquiry, two intelligence officers meet to discuss their presumed fate; pinpointing the role they’ve played in teaching and implementing interrogation. Their conversation is overheard by Ellie, the bar manager, whose fierce reaction to their admissions is both brittle and damning. Both men have different reasons to win Ellie’s trust. To this end they present her with the harsh truths of war and the urgency pressed upon the Intelligence Corps in a seemingly unwinnable war.
