The Gut Girls by Sarah Daniels at the Jack Studio Theatre

OutFox Productions presents The Gut Girls by Sarah Daniels, at the Jack Studio Theatre, a 50-seat fringe venue, adjoining the Brockley Jack Pub, in Brockley, south London, from 11 to 29 Mar 2014.

Directed by Amy Gunn, design by Rachael Ryan, lighting by Amy Smith, sound Mark Webber. Cast includes Lucy Caplin (Maggie/Nora/Edna), Billie Fulford-Brown (Polly), Beth Eyre (Ellen/Priscilla), Katherine Rodden (Kate), Hannah Wood (Annie/Emily/Eady), Gemma Paget (Lady Helena), Luke Stevenson (Harry/Arthur/Len/Mad Jacko), Oliver Malam (Jim/Edwin).

The foul mouthed, beer-swilling Gut Girls of Victorian London spend their days ankle deep in blood and nights in the delights of the East End's most notorious dance halls. Known for their outrageous hats, raucous antics and don't mess attitude, these cockney lasses are not the type of girl you want to take home, let alone meet down a dark alley. Earning more in a week gutting carcasses than a year in domestic service, the Gut Girls have independence and each other. When Lady Helena's attempts to improve the girls through bible studies and sobriety fall short and the slaughterhouse closes, freedom is butchered.
