Tells the story of American Andrea Yates, who drowned her five children in a bathtub in 2001. Yates' mental illness led her to believe she was possessed by the Devil, her children were evil. and she must kill them to save their souls. The stigma of mental illness and poor US health care practices, were among the reasons she never received the help she needed. Using expressionistic techniques, actual interviews, documented confessions and transcripts,American company Cruel Theatre tells the unfortunate story of Andrea Yates' life, from her first bout with insanity up to her arrest and her confession.
