‘The Mirror and the Light’ extends West End run, performances now to January 2022

The Hilary Mantel novel is adapted by Mantel and Ben Miles.

Ahead of The Mirror and the Light world premiere opening later this month, an extended booking period has been announced. The Mirror and the Light will now run for an additional eight weeks, and is at the Gielgud Theatre from 23 September to 23 January, with The Mirror and the Light tickets on sale now.

The Mirror and the Light explores the political career of Thomas Cromwell in Henry VIII's court, while Jane Seymour is trying to give the Tudor monarch an heir. The Mirror and the Light is the final part of the Wolf Hall trilogy, and comes to the stage seven years after the Olivier Award-winning plays Wolf Hall and Bring Up the Bodies

Ben Miles will reprise the role of Thomas Cromwell, joined by Nathaniel Parker returning to his Olivier Award-winning role of Henry VIII. The full cast is completed by Rosanna Adams, Paul Adeyefa, Melissa Allan, Samuel Awoyo, Nicholas Boulton, Aurora Dawson-Hunte, Ian Drysdale, Mark Extance, Jo Herbert, Andrew Hodges, Niamh James, Terique Jarrett, Jordan Kouamé, Geoffrey Lumb, Olivia Marcus, Umi Myers, Matt Pidgeon, Liam Smith, Giles Taylor, Tony Turner, Leo Wan and Nicholas Woodeson.

Following his award-winning direction of Wolf Hall and Bring up the Bodies, Jeremy Herrin returns to direct The Mirror and the Light. Scenic and costume design is by Christopher Oram, with lighting design by Jessica Hung Han Yun, music by Stephen Warbeck, and sound design by Nick Powell.

After The Mirror and the Light, the Gielgud Theatre will be home to the West End premiere of To Kill a MockingbirdTo Kill a Mockingbird begins performances on 10 Mar. 2022. 

The Mirror and the Light is at the Gielgud Theatre from 23 September - 23 January.
