Paris 1911. A struggling Spanish artist called Pablo Picasso is arrested on suspicion of stealing the Mona Lisa from the Louvre. Overnight, he is propelled from anonymity to notoriety, but his incarceration comes with unexpected benefits.

Loosely based on real events and peppered with characters such as Guillaume Apollinaire, Gertrude Stein and George Braques, it takes a light-hearted look at the louche life of a young artist about town and the unpredictable ways in which inspiration can strike.
