‘The Woman in Black’ to reopen at Fortune Theatre in September
The ghostly drama celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2019.
The Woman in Black will see audiences return to Eel Marsh House, as performances resume in the West End later this year. The Woman in Black reopens at the Fortune Theatre from 7 September, continuing its run as the second-longest West End play.
Based on Susan Hill's best-selling ghost story, The Woman in Black tells of solicitor Arthur Kipps who hires an actor to dramatise his fears. It's innocent enough at first, but sorting out papers eventually becomes more, with borders between make-believe and reality beginning to blur.
Terence Wilton will play Arthur Kipps, with Max Hutchinson as The Actor in The Woman in Black at the Fortune Theatre. As well as its West End reopening, producers have also announced a nationwide tour of The Woman in Black.
In the last LondonTheatre.co.uk review of The Woman in Black, "It is extraordinary that with the most basic props, minimal set, a few sound effects along with the atmosphere of the drama and your own imagination this play can scare you stiff!"
