About Punchdrunk: The Burnt City

Punchdrunk creates genre-defying experiences for audiences around the world. They blend classic texts, physical performance, dance and award-winning design installation to bring to life unique sensory worlds. Punchdrunk: The Burnt City tickets are available on London Theatre now.

Inspired by Greek tragedies Agamemnon by Aeschylus and Hecuba by Euripides, The Burnt City is a sprawling metropolis filled with chance encounters and each visit is unique. Be brave. Follow your instincts. If you find yourself somewhere curious explore it, and if someone catches your eye follow them.

Experience the epic new world from Punchdrunk, ‘the world-conquering theatre rebels’ (Evening Standard), as the greatest of Greek tragedies is transported to a sprawling dystopian labyrinth.

Amidst the moments surrounding the fall of Troy, a mythical world of gods and mortals rises from the ashes. Discover a colossal playground that you are free to explore. Move between the haunting palace of Greece to the pulsating neon back streets of downtown Troy. Follow strangers who emerge from the shadows and seek out tales hiding in the deepest parts of the city.

Must see, Thought-provoking, Exquisite, Confusing, Absorbing

See it if you like punchdrunk/fully immersive productions, truly one of the most miraculous set designs you will ever see, committed acting, incredible

Don’t see it if you want a clear story- this one is a bit confusing, you prefer plot, you hate immersive, you prefer a seated show with no energy required

Experience like no other, Original, Absorbing, Amazing

See it if You love the experience of being plunged into an immersive world where you can independently explore. You are comfortable being lost.

Don’t see it if You want a clear narrative, don't like immersive theatre, like instructions haha.

Must see, Intense, Great staging, Great acting, Absorbing

See it if You enjoy contemporary dance and immersive theatre. But in general: Just a must see! Brilliant! Captivating! Breath taking!

Don’t see it if You are afraid to explore on your own. You’re expecting a typical play.
