This family-friendly musical, based on the hit American tv cartoon series show, brings the underwater adventures of SpongeBob SquarePants to life. At the start of The SpongeBob Musical, the Bikini Bottom community is in danger. The giant volcano Mount Humongous is about to erupt — when it does, Bikini Bottom will be destroyed. It’s down to Spongebob and his lovable friends to outmaneuver the evil Planktons, save their town, and protect the pineapple under the sea. If anyone can do it, SpongeBob Squarepants can! After all, hero is Spongebob's middle name.

Spongebob Squarepants debuted on the U.S.’s Nickelodeon channel in 1998. Nearly a quarter of a century later, the television show continues as one of the longest-running animated series in America, with new episodes still airing today.

In 2016, SpongeBob was adapted into a musical; this live theatrical version premiered in Chicago before making a splash on Broadway. In 2017, it was nominated for 12 Tony Awards — tying with Mean Girls as the most-nominated show of the season.

Now, The Spongebob Musical in London comes alive with stunning sets, thrilling costumes, and unbelievable choreography that is sure to put a smile on your face. Plus, there's an energetic cast too, including RuPaul’s Drag Race UK’s Divina De Campo also stars as Sheldon J. Plankton.

Did you know the fictional underwater town of Bikini Bottom is based on a real place? Bikini Atoll is a coral reef within the Marshall Islands. Its name comes from the Marshallese word “Pikinni,” which means place of coconuts. During the twentieth century, the American government used Bikini Atoll as a nuclear testing site. In 2010, UNESCO declared Bikini Atoll a world heritage site.
