Kept to the story while moving along at a good pace. Great songs and great vocals.

Beautiful music , talented cast , emotional ,intimate , energetic impactful atmospheric ,clever and amazing

This is a clever adaptation which manages to squeeze all of the iconic moments of the novel into one pacy show. Of course this breadth came at the expense of depth and I’m not sure anyone unfamiliar with the story would be able to experience the emotional highs and lows just listening to the lyrics. For me, it immediately made me want to re-read the novel to savour the nuances which this show necessarily lacks. I enjoyed the folksy score and the cast, especially actors playing Jane and Rochester, were fantastic with incredible vocals. While it is always great to sit so close to the actors as you can in a smaller venue, I wish there was more to the stage design and costuming to make us feel more rooted in the moody, gothic Yorkshire setting. Overall an enjoyable evening which left me wanting to revisit the story in more detail once again.
