White Rabbit Red Rabbit tickets

Experience White Rabbit Red Rabbit, Nassim Soleimanpour’s unpredictable theatrical event, as a different performer takes to the Duchess Theatre stage every Monday night with a script they’ve never seen before. Book White Rabbit Red Rabbit tickets on London Theatre.

White Rabbit Red Rabbit is a play with no rehearsals. The performer has never read what they will be acting out on stage — instead, they'll be handed an envelope containing a script they must perform for the first and only time in front of that evening’s audience.

Every Monday, a different actor will accept this exciting performance challenge, meaning no two performances of White Rabbit Red Rabbit in London can ever be replicated. The performer must respond in real time to Soleimanpour’s words and instructions, creating a unique theatrical experience shaped by the talent on stage and the audience receiving it.

Soleimanpour wrote the play while he was unable to leave Iran. Under its playful format, the work raises important questions about freedom of expression and the consequences of people agreeing to follow instructions without understanding where they might lead.

Since its premiere in 2011, White Rabbit Red Rabbit has travelled around the world and has been translated into more than 30 languages. Its experimental nature has attracted an extraordinary variety of performers, with the current London residency featuring a new guest artist each Monday.

Past and present performers include David Tennant, Kathryn Hunter, Jodie Whittaker, Kunal Nayyar, David Harewood, and Christopher Eccleston, who have agreed to wade into the unknown, with further performers taking their turn throughout the residency.

With no opportunity to prepare, White Rabbit Red Rabbit turns every Monday night at the Duchess Theatre into a fascinating night of live performance that audiences are unlikely to have experienced before.
