But when she’s unexpectedly taken under the wings of the three beautiful and impossibly cruel Heathers, her dreams of popularity finally start to come true. That is until J.D., the mysterious teen rebel, teaches her that it might kill to be a nobody, but it’s murder being a somebody.

Heathers, at the time I discovered it as a teen, was a musical that tugged on all of my teenage experiences: social anxiety, belonging in a group, finding one’s identity. Now as an adult and seeing the news of an upstarting of school shootings in the Philippines, it serves as an awareness that school bullying and/or domestic abuse, not video game violence, are the problems to be thoroughly looked in to.
A (somewhat) accurate depiction of high school and how sometimes you do things just to survive.
Such a fun time, every actor played their role amazingly and the soundtrack is so so good
