The critically acclaimed Cirque du Soleil masterpiece, Ovo, returns to the Royal Albert Hall in a dazzling acrobatic spectacle. Book Ovo tickets on London Theatre.
Ovo, which means 'egg' in Portuguese, immerses attendees in a vibrant ecosystem filled with insects of all sorts, from soaring butterflies to jumping crickets, and even a ladybug capturing the heart of a new insect in the neighborhood. This masterful show includes incredible acrobatics, a Brazilian-inspired live score, and immersive staging.
Ovo in London features 53 incredible acrobats and musicians from 25 countries. Their outstanding acts include contortion, foot juggling, aerial silks, a trampoline wall, and so much more.
Ovo is a show that is directed and choreographed by Deborah Colker, and the artistic director is Lydia Harper.
Colker said of the show, "I like to replicate nature and to incorporate nature with art—the shapes, forms, textures, colors. The insect world is amazing. Ovo has lots of energy and feelings, personalities and emotions."
Ovo premiered in 2009 and had its Royal Albert Hall premiere in 2018. Since then, it's become an audience favourite. Over time, the acts have shifted, some have been retired, some have changed, but the heart of the show remains. Incredibly, in 2012, the production reached its 1,000th show, a milestone they have now far surpassed.
As the Broadway World review said of the production, "Spectacular is an implicit adjective of any Cirque production and so it is here with Ovo."
Audiences can expect marvelous acrobatics, brilliant costumes, and wonderful choreography in this exciting production for all ages.
