Your favourite festive film is now a major new musical adapted for the stage by Debbie Isitt, the creator of the much-loved films. 

Every child in every school has one Christmas wish, to star in a Nativity, and at St Bernadette’s School they’re attempting to mount a musical version! Only trouble is teacher Mr Maddens has promised that a Hollywood producer is coming to see the show to turn it into a film. Join him, his teaching assistant the crazy Mr Poppy, hilarious children and a whole lot of sparkle and shine as they struggle to make everyone’s Christmas wish come true. 

Feel –good, funny and full of yuletide joy, Nativity! The Musical features all of the favourite sing-a-long hits from the films including Sparkle and Shine, Nazareth, One Night One Moment, She’s the Brightest Star and a whole host of new songs filled with the spirit of Christmas!

With the cast including West End favourites Daniel Boys (Avenue Q), Sarah Earnshaw (Wicked, Spamalot) and Simon Lipkin (Rock of Ages, Guys and Dolls), Nativity! The Musical is the perfect feel-good comedy for all the family. Accompanying them are Andy Brady (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory), Derek Aidoo (Beautiful - The Carole King Musical), Jalisa Andrews and Jennifer Louise Jones.

Nativity the Musical to return to London in 2018

The musical adaptation of Nativity will return to London in 2018 following its run at the Eventim Apollo this December.  Daniel Boys and Simon Lipkin star in the production which is an adaptation of the X film starring Martin Freeman. It tells the story of a primary school teacher who heads into competition to put on a better nativity play than a rival school.  The current production features The X Factor judge Louis Walsh making his stage debut as a Hollywood producer.

The X Factor judge Louis Walsh is set to make his stage debut in the stage adaptation of Nativity the Musical, which opens in Birmingham later this month. The musical is adapted from the 2009 film of the same name, which starred Martin Freeman as a school teacher in competition with a rival school to put on the best Christmas play. Walsh will make his debut as the ‘Hollywood Producer’ in London run of the production, which also stars Simon Lipkin, Sarah Earnshaw, Andy Brady, Jemma Churchill, Jamie Chapman and Daniel Boys, as well as a cast of 27 children.

Primary casting has been announced for the World Premiere of Nativity! the Musical which opens at Birmingham Repertory Theatre on 20 October 2017 ahead of a UK tour and run at the Hammersmith Apollo in London from 13-17 December 2017. Daniel Boys will play ‘Paul Maddens’ alongside Sarah Earnshaw as ‘Jennifer Lore’ and Simon Lipkin as ‘Mr Poppy’. They will be joined by Andy Barke, Jamie Chapman, Jemma Churchill, Gary Davis and Katia Sartini. Further casting and child casting is yet to be announced.
