‘& Juliet’ new cast announced ahead of West End reopening

The Olivier Award-winning musical is back at the Shaftesbury Theatre.

A new cast for the West End reopening of & Juliet has been announced. Many of the original cast remain in the musical, which will recommence performances at the Shaftesbury Theatre from 24 September. & Juliet tickets are on sale now.

Alex Thomas-Smith will take over the role of May from Arun Blair-Mangat. They were previously part of the original Dear Evan Hansen London company, but has also starred in Bat Out of Hell at the Dominion Theatre.

The Olivier-winning actress Miriam Teak-Lee will reprise the role of Juliet, joined by her fellow Olivier winners Cassidy Janson as Anne Hathaway and David Bedella as Lance. Oliver Tompsett will play William Shakespeare, with Jordan Luke Gage as Romeo, Melanie La Barrie as Nurse and Tim Mahendran as Francois.

The & Juliet cast is completed by Roshani Abbey, Jocasta Almgill, Josh Baker, Ivan De Freitas, Rhian Duncan, Kieran Lai, Nathan Lorainey-Dineen, Jaye Marshall, Grace Mouat, Antoine Murray-Straughan, Billy Nevers, Kerri Norville, Christopher Parkinson, Kirstie Skivington, Alex Tranter, Sophie Usher and Rhys Wilkinson.

A contemporary sequel to William Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet, & Juliet sees the title character travel to Paris to meet a new group of people. The pop musical is set to Max Martin songs, including "Larger Than Life" by the Backstreet Boys and "Hit Me Baby One More Time" by Britney Spears. & Juliet is at the Shaftesbury Theatre from 24 September.
