Anna Zavelson to star in 'The Phantom of the Opera'

Anna Zavelson will play the role of Christine Daaé in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera for 11 weeks only. She will perform at His Majesty’s Theatre in the West End from 18 May through 1 August.
Zavelson played the role in Masquerade, the immersive adaptation of The Phantom of the Opera in New York. Her other credits include Younger Allie in The Notebook on Broadway, as well as the Off-Broadway productions Chinese Republicans and Light in the Piazza.
The rest of the cast includes Dean Chisnall as The Phantom, Ashley Gilmour as Raoul, Joanna Ampil as Carlotta Giudicelli, Martin Ball as Monsieur Firmin, Adam Linstead as Monsieur André, Helen Hobson as Madame Giry, Bradyn Debysingh as Ubaldo Piangi and Millie Lyon as Meg Giry. At certain performances the role of Christine Daaé will be played by Colleen Rose Curran.

With a score including "The Music of the Night", "All I Ask of You", "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again", and "Masquerade", The Phantom of the Opera tells the story of young soprano Christine Daaé, who is tutored by the mysterious masked figure and musical genius known as The Phantom. When Christine reunites with her childhood sweetheart Raoul, The Phantom's passion and jealousy grows, leading to a dramatic turn of events.
The show's music is composed by Lloyd Webber, with lyrics by Charles Hart and additional lyrics by Richard Stilgoe. The book for the musical is written by Stilgoe and Lloyd Webber, and it is based on the novel Le Fantôme de l’Opera by Gaston Leroux.
