‘Billionaire Boy’ makes West End premiere at Garrick Theatre
It's based on David Walliams' 2010 novel.
The West End premiere of Billionaire Boy will take place this summer, it has been confirmed. Originally a book, and then a BBC television production, David Walliams' novel will now be dramatised at the Garrick Theatre from 17 July - 22 August.
Ahead of the West End premiere, author and comedian David Walliams said: "I am absolutely delighted this fantastic family show of my book is coming to the West End. It is really funny and I can't wait to see it again."
Billionaire Boy tells of Joe Spud, a young boy who is the wealthiest kid in the country. But, there's one thing money can't buy: a friend. Leaving his posh school, his life becomes a rollercoaster, but finally forms friendships.
The cast includes Matthew Gordon as Joe, Benedict Martin as Dad, Irfan Damani as Raj, Emma Matthews as Mrs Trafe, Matthew Chase as Jayden, Rosie Coles as Sapphire and Jake Lomas as Bob.
Billionaire Boy is based on a novel by David Walliams. Other works of his have been adapted for stage, including Gangsta Granny and The Boy in the Dress, the latter seen at the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon.
Billionaire Boy is at the Garrick Theatre from 17 July - 22 August.
