The hit musical comedy *Titanique* has confirmed plans for a West End run later this year. The show is currently performing at Off-Broadway venue the Daryl Roth Theatre.

From the Brian Cox-led *Long Day's Journey Into Night*, to *Bluets*, starring Ben Whishaw, here’s the top theatre picks in London in May 2024.

Casting for the limited West End run of *[Cake](https://www.londontheatre.co.uk/show/33533-cake)* at the [Lyric Theatre](https://www.londontheatre.co.uk/theatres/lyric-theatre) has been announced, with Kandaka Moore (*Sylvia*) playing Nicole and Roger Dipper (*A Christmas Carol*) portraying Cardinal.

Completing the cast are Ope Sowande (*Moulin Rouge*), Elizabeth Fullalove (*Starlight Express*), Travis Kerry (*Hamilton*), and Jane Albertsen (*Hamilton*).

Zizi Strallen (*Mary Poppins*) as Marie Antoinette and Renée Lamb (*SIX*) as Jeanne will reprise their roles from the UK tour earlier this year, as previously announced.

*Cake* retells the story of Marie Antoinette's reign, which was overshadowed by gossip and scandal. The new musical boasts an award-winning creative team, including Olivier Award-winner Drew McOnie (*In the Heights, Jesus Christ Superstar*), Morgan Lloyd Malcolm (*Emilia*), Tasha Taylor Johnson (*The Cat In The Hat*), and singer-songwriter Jack McManus.

The Lyric Theatre opened on 17 Dec. 1888. From the twentieth century, the theatre's typically hosted plays and musicals. Notable shows include *The Royal Family* starring Laurence Olivier, and the original production of Willy Russell’s *Blood Brothers*.

In recent years, the Lyric Theatre has become heavily associated with Michael Jackson — the *Thriller Live* concert ran for 13 years. Michael Jackson then made way for Bob Marley with *Get Up, Stand Up! The Bob Marley Story.* Nimax Theatres has owned the Lyric Theatre since 2005.

## Lyric Theatre Seating Information

The auditorium has four levels – Stalls, Dress Circle, Upper Circle and Balcony. In the Stalls, the view of the stage is slightly obscured by the overhang of the Dress Circle in Rows Q and R. 

In the Dress Circle, there is a shallow rake.

The Upper Circle offers shallow legroom. The balcony does not hinder the view. 

The Balcony is very high up, but the seats offer a good view of the stage.
