Carrie's War, by Nina Bawden, adapted by Emma Reeves, will open at the Apollo Theatre, Shaftesbury Ave 24 June 2009, following previews from 18 June - booking to 12 Sep 2009.

It play will feature Prunella Scales, James Beddard, Sarah Edwardson, Amanda Symonds.

Prunella Scales' London stage credits include: "A Woman Of No Importance" at the Haymarket in 2003; "Too Far to Walk" at the King's Head in 2002; "The Day in the Death of Joe Egg" at the Comedy & New Ambassadors in 2001; "The Birthday Party" at the Piccadilly Theatre in 1999; "The Editing Process" at the Royal Court in 1994. However she is probably best known for playing Sybil Fawlty in 70s sitcom "Fawlty Towers"

Carrie's War is directed by Andrew Loudon, designed by Edward Lipscomb, lighting by Matthew Eagland, sound by John Leonard.

When the Second World War air raids threaten their saftey in the city, Carrie and her brother are evacuated to a small Welsh village. But the countryside has dangers and adventures of its own - and a group of characters who will change Carrie's life for ever. There's mean Mr Evans, kind Auntie Lou, brilliant young Albert Sandwich and Mr Johnny, who speaks a language all of his own. Then there's Hepzibah Green the witch at Druids Grove, and the ancient skull with its terrifying curse...
