The full casting has been announced for the return of Noises Off to the Lyric Hammersmith, which will open at the off-West End theatre next month.

First performed at the Hammersmith venue in 1982, Noises Off follows a play-within-a-play structure. Inspired by the stage directions, the play showcases the unpredictable nature of being backstage at a theatre.

Noises Off is written by Michael Frayn. Commenting on the show's return to the venue, he said: "It's a great personal pleasure for me, of course, to see my play come home, after all its travels around the world in the last forty years, to the theatre where it took its first hopeful but still uncertain steps."

Meera Syal will play Dotty Otley, last appearing in the West End in Pinter Three as part of the recent Pinter season at the Harold Pinter Theatre. Syal has appeared in numerous West End productions, recently appearing Annie at the Piccadilly Theatre, Romeo and Juliet at the Garrick Theatre and Behind the Beautiful Forevers at the National Theatre. Syal is also known for starring in The Kumars at No. 42, a BBC television series from 2001 to 2006.

Lloyd Owen will play Lloyd Dallas, the director of the play-within-the-play. Recently appearing in ITV's Cleaning Up alongside Sheridan Smith, Owen's theatre credits include The Bodyguard at the Adelphi Theatre, The End of Longing at the Playhouse Theatre and Good People at the Hampstead Theatre.

Daniel Rigby will play Garry Lejeune. Winning best actor at the BAFTA Television Awards for his portrayal of Eric Morecambe in Eric & Ernie, Rigby has starred in One Man, Two Guvnors in the West End and on Broadway, Twelfth Night at the National Theatre and Holes at the Arcola Theatre.

Casting is completed by Lois Chimimba, Jonathan Cullen, Debra Gillett, Amy Morgan, Enyi Okoronkwo and Simon Rouse.

Noises Off is at the Lyric Hammersmith from 27th June to 27th July.
