Casting revealed for 'Julius Caesar' at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse

Directed by Joe Hill-Gibbins (Ghosts), Shakespeare's play tells the story of the conspiracy to assassinate Caesar, his death, and the civil war that follows.

Casting has been announced for Shakespeare's Julius Caesar, which begins performances at the Globe Theatre in London on 6 November, running through 14 February 2027.

Directed by Joe Hill-Gibbins (Ghosts), Shakespeare's play tells the story of the conspiracy to assassinate Caesar, his death, and the civil war that follows. The play will be staged for the first time in the candlelit Sam Wanamaker Playhouse.

The cast will include Kate Duchêne as Julius Caesar/Soothsayer/Octavius Caesar, Caoilfhionn Dunne as Brutus, Adam Gillen as Mark Antony, and Natey Jones as Cassius.

Hill-Gibbins said: “I'm so excited to bring this timely story, performed by a company of four incredible actors, to audiences in the Wanamaker this winter. Reviving a classic play in front of a contemporary audience creates a kind of time machine, which allows us to pull the past into the present and for our present to inhabit the past. I can't wait for the spirits of Julius Caesar, Mark Antony, Cassius and Brutus to rise and possess the atmospheric and intimate Wannamaker theatre this winter".

The creative team includes Associate Director Lucy Wray, Candlelight Designer Charles Balfour, Co-Composers Zands Duggan and Louise Anna Duggan, Designer Rosanna Vize, and Movement and Intimacy Director Joana Nastari.
