Casting revealed for 'Sting' at the Young Vic
Directed by Nancy Medina, Sting follows Ash as she begins a new job cataloguing historic cases of women accused of witchcraft.
Casting has been revealed for Sophie Swithinbank's Sting at the Young Vic in London. Performances run from 18 June to 19 July in the Maria Studio.
Directed by Nancy Medina, Sting follows Ash as she begins a new job cataloguing historic cases of women accused of witchcraft. But as she and her boss Lily delve into researching a disturbing series of murders, unsettling questions begin to emerge.
The show will star Adelle Leonce (Fool Me Once, Bagman, Amadeus), Nick Blood (Trollied, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Euphoria), and Phoebe Ladenburg (Surrender, Baby Shower, American Monster).
Swithinbank said, “When I was writing Sting, I thought, no one will ever programme this - it’s quite feral and fingers some dangerous truths about our society. The fact that Nadia Fall has programmed it is proof of what I've always suspected - the Young Vic is London's most punk and fearless theatre.”
Medina said, “Sophie's writing is mercurial, sharp and funny. It explodes off the page and invites us to lean in and listen. I cannot wait for audiences to experience Sting, brought to life by the magic of this incredible cast.”
