Following previous news that James McAvoy will star as the titular character in an adaptation of Cyrano de Bergerac, performance dates and a venue have been announced for the upcoming production.

The play will begin previews at the Playhouse Theatre on 27th November, and receive an official opening night on 6th December, with a limited engagement to 29th February 2020.

Cyrano de Bergerac will mark the first production as part of a season of work directed by Jamie Lloyd at the Playhouse Theatre, which will run from November 2019 to August 2020.

Tickets for Cyrano de Bergerac are not yet on sale, with tickets available to book from September 2019.

James McAvoy will star as Cyrano, with previous West End credits including the titular role in Macbeth at Trafalgar Studios, directed by Jamie Lloyd, as well as Three Days of Rain and The Ruling Class. Further casting is to be announced.

Cyrano de Bergerac is adapted by Martin Crimp, with design by Soutra Gilmour, lighting design by Jon Clark, sound and composition by Ben and Max Ringham and fight direction by Kate Waters.

Originally written by Edmond Rostand, the play dramatises the life of the titular character, a 17th-century French playwright and novelist whose works challenged the upstanding morals in society.

Cyrano de Bergerac will run at the Playhouse Theatre from 27th November 2019.

Cyrano de Bergerac tickets will go on sale in September.
