David Mamet's The Woods will be staged at Southwark Playhouse next year. The Woods begins previews at Southwark Playhouse on 24 February, with an opening night on 1 March, and performances to 23 March.

The battle of the sexes play sees two people, Nick and Ruth, spend a weekend at a woodland cabin in the woods. During their time in the woods, their relationship is tested to breaking point.

Francesca Carpanini will make her UK theatre debut as Ruth. Previously, the actress has starred in Broadway productions of All My Sons and The Little Foxes. Sam Frenchum will play Nick. Frenchum currently plays Mr. Dorset in the Netflix series, Bridgerton.

Russell Bolam directs, with scenic and costume design by Anthony Lamble, lighting design by Bethany Gupwell, and sound by Ali Tale.
