Ahead of the Trafalgar Theatre opening later this year, Sir Howard Panter and Dame Rosemary Squire have unveiled a first look at the Trafalgar Theatre auditorium. Audiences will be able to visit the Trafalgar Theatre from 28 July, as Jersey Boys opens in the West End, with Jersey Boys tickets on sale now.

The Trafalgar Theatre replaces the previously existing Trafalgar Studios, combining the auditoriums to create a larger space. The new Trafalgar Theatre now has a seating capacity of 630, and restores the venue back to its original 1930s design.

Speaking about the Trafalgar Theatre, Panter said: "Underneath the shell of the Trafalgar Studios, there was a remarkable art deco building, and through the painstaking restoration work we have completed alongside all the relevant historical partners, we have a beautiful genuinely unique theatre fit for 21st century audience."

Squire commented on the theatre's opening that: "Trafalgar Theatre is steeped in cultural significance and has been lovingly restored back to its original heritage design. During the restoration process there was great care and attention to detail with all the design elements and we carried out huge amounts of research to ensure that the renovation was authentic in terms of design and style."

The redevelopment of Trafalgar Theatre was overseen by Foster Wilson Size, who have previously led restoration projects at the Apollo Victoria Theatre, the Barbican and the Eventim Apollo.

Jersey Boys will open the Trafalgar Theatre from 28 July, with a current booking period to 2 Jan. 2022. Further programming at Trafalgar Theatre is to be announced. Read more about Jersey Boys in London here.
