The first image has been released of Natalie Dormer and David Oakes in character ahead of Venus in Fur, which runs at the Theatre Royal Haymarket later this year.

Dormer and Oakes will star in this new production directed by Patrick Marber, designed by Rob Howell with lighting by Hugh Vanstone.

The play is about actress Vanda Jordan who appears unannounced or an audition with the director Thomas Novachek, determined to be cast in the leading role of his latest production. Scroll down to see the image of Dormer and Oakes. 

Venus in Fur is described as 'an intoxicating dark comedy of desire, fantasy and the innate love of fur', and originally had its premiere off-Broadway at the Classic Stage Company in 2010 before transferring to Broadway in 2011. Director Roman Polanski adapted the play into a film in 2012. The production runs in London from 6th October. 

Natalie Dormer made her professional stage debut in Sweet Nothings at the Young Vic in 2010 before going on to star in .45 at the Hampstead Theatre later that year and After Miss Julie at the Young Vic in 2012. On TV she is widely known for playing Margaery Tyrell in Game of Thrones as well as starring as Anne Boleyn in the long-running series The Tudors. She made her film debut in Casanova in 2005 and starred in Madonna's film W.E as Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon as well as the film adaptation of The Riot Club and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay.

David Oakes was last seen in the West End in The Trial of Macbeth as well as the stage adaptation of Shakespeare in Love at the Noel Coward Theatre in 2015. Other theatre credits include Pride and Prejudice at the Open Air Theatre, All The Little Things We Crushed at the Almeida and Love's Labour's Lost at Shakespeare's Globe. His work on TV includes the popular series Victoria as well as The White Queen and Ripper Street.
