Full casting announced for Florian Zeller’s The Son in the West End

The full cast has been announced for the upcoming West End transfer of Florian Zeller's play The Son, which opens at the Duke of York's Theatre from 2nd September.

Transferring from the Kiln Theatre, the play tells the story of a young boy facing the difficult reality of his parents' divorce, who starts skipping school and lying to his family.

Directed by Michael Longhurst, Amanda Abbington, Laurie Kynaston, John Light, Amaka Okafor and Martin Turner all reprise their roles from the Kiln production for the 10-week run.

Cudjoe Asare joins the company to play Nurse, and The Son marks his professional stage debut.

The Son runs at the Duke of York's Theatre from 24th August to 2nd November, with an official opening night on 2nd September.

The play is translated by Christopher Hampton and follows Zeller's previous West End runs with plays including The Height of the Storm and The Father.

It also marks the Kiln Theatre's first West End transfer since the venue reopened its door under is new name, having previously been named the Tricycle Theatre.

The Son is at the Duke of York's Theatre from 24th August.
