Full casting announced for The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe at the Bridge Theatre

The full cast for the London transfer of The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe at the Bridge Theatre has been announced, opening in November.

Laura Elphinstone will star as The White Witch and Mrs Macready, previously starring in Young Marx at the off-West End venue. Notable performing credits include HBO's Chernobyl, BBC's Line of Duty and My Country for the National Theatre.

Wil Johnson will play Aslan and Professor Kirk, recently starring in Sweat at the Gielgud Theatre. Previously, he has appeared in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead at the Old Vic, as well as a national tour of Glengarry Glen Ross.

Keziah Joseph will play Lucy, with theatre credits including Mr Gum and the Dancing Bear at the National Theatre and As You Like It at Regent's Park Open Air Theatre.

Stuart Neal will play Mr Tumnus, John Leader will play Edmund, Femi Akinfolarin will play Peter, Shalisa James-Davis will play Susan and Dean Nolan and Beverly Rudd will play Mr and Mrs Beaver respectively.

The cast is completed by Emily Benjamin, Amber Cayasso, Sebastian Charles, Andro Copperthwaite, Nicky Cross, David Emmings, Nathan Louis Fernand, Linford Johnson, Mitch Leow, Mei Mac, James McHugh, Helen Parke, Tinovimbanashe Sibanda and Millicent Wong.

Based on C.S. Lewis' fantasy novel, The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe sees four evacuated children stsep into a wardrobe to discover a magical world named Narnia. While there, the quartet must work to save the faraway land, encountering talking creatures and getting into battle.

The critically-acclaimed production premiered at Leeds Playhouse in 2017, directed by Sally Cookson with design by Rae Smith.

The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe is at the Bridge Theatre from 9th November.
